The Team headed to la belle province to defend their 2007 title at The National, the second stop on the 2008/09 Grand Slam circuit. And it looked like the Team was going to repeat, sailing into the playoffs without a loss. But with the sudden-death nature of playoffs, one loss and you’re done…and thats what happened to the Team in the Semi-Final, with the lads suffering a 2-5 loss to Toronto’s Wayne Middaugh.
Looking at the numbers, the team worked a solid defensive gameplay, but failed to capitalize on opportunities to score multiple-point ends throughout the event, which ultimately cost the Team in their SF loss to Middaugh (HE of only 30%).
The Team will regroup and get back into action in week three of its four week road stand, heading to Edmonton for the upcoming Canada Cup Qualifier event.
